Child Care Commission must consult with Division of Child Development to develop improved nutrition standards for child care facilities appropriate for different age groups.

Commission shall consider recommendations including limiting sweetened beverages, whole milk, and flavored milk; restricting juice to six ounces per day; and prohibiting juice from bottles.

Commission must create exceptions to nutrition rules for children with medical needs, special diets, food allergies, and allow parents to provide alternative foods upon request.

Division of Child Development must examine physical activity levels in child care facilities and report findings and recommendations by September 1, 2011 to designated legislative entities.

Division of Public Health must examine current nutrition standards in child care facilities and report findings and recommendations by December 1, 2010, considering potential changes to federal Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines.
