North Carolina Supreme Court is requested to adopt rules establishing minimum education and training standards for district court judges handling civil and criminal domestic violence cases

University of North Carolina School of Government is encouraged to provide domestic violence education and training opportunities for district court judges and magistrates

This request follows recommendations made by the joint legislative committee on domestic violence

Act became effective upon passage on July 20, 2010
