Honors the founders of Transylvania County on the occasion of the county's 150th anniversary in 2011, which was formed in 1861 from Henderson and Jackson Counties.

Recognizes significant historical figures and institutions including Dr. Ephraim Brevard (American Revolution surgeon and Mecklenburg Declaration signer), the Gillespie family of gunsmiths, and the Silversteen family's business contributions.

Acknowledges Transylvania County's role as the first public school system in North Carolina to integrate beginning in 1963 and Brevard High School's first integrated athletic team in 1963.

Highlights cultural and natural resources including Brevard College (oldest college/university in Western North Carolina mountains, founded 1853), Brevard Music Center, over 250 waterfalls, and the Cradle of Forestry in America.

Directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Chair of the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners.
