Appropriates $200,000 from the General Fund to the North Carolina Science Olympiad nonprofit organization for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.

Directs funding to expand Science Olympiad programs to all 100 North Carolina counties and sponsor at least 15 regional tournaments.

Allocates funds to increase school participation and establish a State director position to coordinate the program statewide.

Establishes that Science Olympiad provides rigorous academic interscholastic competition through team events that students prepare for throughout the year.

Effective July 1, 2010.
