Appropriates $65,000 from the General Fund to the North Carolina Department of Agriculture for fiscal year 2010-2011 to establish a dedicated position for administering and operating the Farm to School Program.

Position duties include increasing educational components, maintaining a farmer directory for school sales, encouraging school participation, expanding existing programs, providing technical assistance, and standardizing procurement thresholds for local farm products.

Requires the Department to collaborate with the Department of Public Instruction to create or revise curriculum materials aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

Mandates annual reporting on the Farm to School Program covering participation rates, produce purchases, education initiatives, and expansion efforts to multiple legislative committees and oversight bodies.

Becomes effective July 1, 2010.
