Removes the state requirement for high school students to complete a graduation project as a condition of earning a high school diploma, effective immediately upon enactment.

Allows local boards of education to voluntarily require their students to complete a high school graduation project if they choose to do so.

Previously stated the state requirement would expire July 1, 2011; this bill eliminates that sunset provision and removes the requirement entirely.

Modifies General Statutes 115C-81(b) regarding the Basic Education Program standards and graduation requirements.
