Allow the City of Thomasville to require a permit before demolishing any designated local historic landmark or contributing structure within a locally designated historic district, notwithstanding G.S. 160A-400.14.

Require the city governing board to hold a public hearing before adopting such an ordinance, with notice provided in accordance with G.S. 160A-364.

Authorize the city to adopt, modify, and revise ordinances as necessary to implement the act and further its intent.

Apply this legislation exclusively to the City of Thomasville.

Effective upon becoming law.
