General Assembly extends congratulations to the Albemarle Electric System on its 100th anniversary, commemorating the system established in 1910.

Honors the memory of early leaders including Mayor I. B. Miller and Board of City Commissioners L. A. Moody, F. E. Starnes, R. A. Crowell, J. A. Groves, and F. V. Watkins who established the electric system.

Recognizes that Albemarle Electric System currently serves more than 11,000 customers and received American Public Power Association Reliable Public Power Provider Platinum Designation in 2009.

Secretary of State directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Mayor Elbert L. "Whit" Whitley, Jr.
