Department of Justice shall study allowing military personnel who completed military police training in any U.S. armed forces branch to receive credit toward basic law enforcement training (B.L.E.T.) requirements.

Study must examine cost effectiveness, efficiency, liability, and quality of training implications of substituting military police training for required B.L.E.T. coursework.

Department of Justice must report findings and policy recommendations to the Joint Legislative Corrections, Crime Control, and Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee by February 1, 2010.

Department shall submit recommended legislation to the General Statutes if appropriate based on study findings.
