Honors the life and memory of Arthur W. Williamson, a former member of the North Carolina General Assembly who served as Senator in 1955, 1959, and 1973, and as Representative in 1961, 1963, 1965, and 1969.

Recognizes Williamson's significant contributions to North Carolina's Community College System during his tenure in the General Assembly.

Acknowledges his public service including membership on the Columbus County Board of Health (1944-1947), Board of Welfare (1940-1950), and as chair of the Board of Education (1953-1954), and his service on the North Carolina Board of Transportation (1977-1981).

Recognizes his substantial land donations to local institutions including churches, fire departments, and Southeastern Community College (over 100 acres).

Secretary of State shall send a certified copy of this resolution to Williamson's family; effective upon ratification on June 17, 2010.
