Modifies Section 2.4 of the Charter of the Town of Highlands to establish annual election of the Mayor Pro Tempore by the town board.

Mayor Pro Tempore elected in odd-numbered years at the organizational meeting following the regular municipal election, serving until the first regular meeting in December of the next year.

Mayor Pro Tempore elected in even-numbered years at the first regular meeting in December, serving until the organizational meeting following the regular municipal election.

Board shall elect a replacement Mayor Pro Tempore to serve the remainder of any unexpired term if a vacancy occurs.

Effective when the act becomes law (ratified July 7, 2010).
