Honors the life and memory of John Arthur Forlines, Jr., a former banker who served as leader of the Bank of Granite for 52 years and was inducted into the North Carolina Business Hall of Fame in 1999 and the North Carolina Bankers Hall of Fame in 2001

Recognizes Forlines's service as President of the North Carolina Bankers Association, trustee of Duke University, Chair of the State Board of Community Colleges from 1985 to 1990, and President of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce

Acknowledges his community contributions including work with Caldwell County's Hospice and Palliative Care and his service as an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Lenoir

Extends sympathy to the family of Forlines, who died on July 6, 2010, at age 92, and directs the Secretary of State to send a certified copy of the resolution to his family
