Adds law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty after 15 years of service to the survivor's alternate benefit provisions for the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS).

Adds law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty after 15 years of service to the survivor's alternate benefit provisions for the Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System (LGERS).

Allows beneficiaries of deceased law enforcement officers to receive a reduced retirement allowance computed under Option 2, without requiring the officer to have reached age 50.

Applies retroactively to beneficiaries of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty on or after January 1, 2007.

Became effective upon ratification on June 16, 2009.
