Appropriates $2,000,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina for fiscal year 2012-2013.

Funds allocated to the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) located at Gateway University Research Park, a collaboration between UNC at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Designated funds to be used for hiring permanent staff, maintaining equipment, and supporting operations at JSNN.

Funds become part of the continuation budget beginning in fiscal year 2012-2013, making the appropriation recurring rather than one-time.

Effective date is July 1, 2012.
