Clay County is exempted from statutes G.S. 143-128, 143-129, 143-131, and 143-132 when entering into contracts and leases for renovation and restoration of its old courthouse building in Hayesville.

The exemption allows Clay County to establish its own terms and conditions for leasing and/or using the old courthouse as a multipurpose facility.

The exemption applies only to the old courthouse building located on the square in the Town of Hayesville.

The act becomes effective upon enactment and expires on June 30, 2015.
