Appropriates $150,000 in nonrecurring General Fund dollars to the Department of Commerce for the 2012-2013 fiscal year to support the North Carolina Indian Economic Development Initiative.

Appropriated funds are to be used for advocacy and facilitation of economic development in American Indian communities through business expansion, opportunities, and partnerships.

Funds support creation, retention, and growth of viable American Indian businesses and entrepreneurs that create sustainable jobs and assets.

Appropriation is in addition to $90,000 in recurring funds already appropriated for fiscal year 2012-2013 through S.L. 2011-145.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2012, with appropriated funds nonrevertible.
