Expands the definition of "eligible unit" under G.S. 58-87-10(a) to include volunteer firefighters serving with municipal fire departments, in addition to independent volunteer fire departments exempt from state income tax.

Allows volunteer firefighters with the City of Raeford Fire Department to participate in the volunteer safety workers compensation fund.

Applies only to the City of Raeford.

Becomes effective upon enactment.
