House Resolution honoring the North Carolina Symphony and its founders, including Lamar Stringfield, Dr. Benjamin Swalin, Maxine Swalin, and Alice Broughton.

Recognizes the Symphony's first concert on May 14, 1932, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the 1943 passage of the "Horn-Tootin' Bill" establishing a 69-year state partnership.

Acknowledges the Symphony's 80 years of service including 500,000+ miles traveled by bus, 45 yearly education concerts for schoolchildren, and music education programs statewide.

Proclaims 2012 as "North Carolina Symphony Year" in recognition of the organization's artistic quality, educational programs, and community service.

Directs the Principal Clerk to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the President of the North Carolina Symphony.
