House Resolution honoring the founders of Louisburg College on the occasion of the college's 225th anniversary, adopted June 28, 2012.

Louisburg College is the oldest two-year residential college and oldest two-year Methodist college in the nation, located in Franklin County.

College developed from three earlier institutions: Franklin Male Academy (chartered January 6, 1787), Louisburg Female Academy (chartered December 27, 1814), and Louisburg Female College (opened August 1857).

College currently enrolls over 700 students from 42 states and 15 countries, with nearly 14,000 alumni and over 90 percent of graduates continuing to four-year institutions.

House of Representatives honors those who contributed to the college's success and joins the administration, faculty, students, alumni, Town of Louisburg, and Franklin County in celebrating the anniversary.
