Allow local school boards to make up a maximum of five days missed due to inclement weather through distance learning instead of extending the school year.

Students must access and complete instruction posted by teachers on the school unit's web portal or website within two weeks of a missed day.

School units may provide students access to computers before or after regularly scheduled school days to complete the online instruction.

Distance learning makeup plans must be approved by the State Board of Education before implementation.

Effective beginning with the 2011-2012 school year.
