Permits introduction of evidence regarding defendants' liability insurance coverage in any civil proceeding, notwithstanding existing Rule 411 of the General Statutes Chapter 8C.

Allows plaintiffs' counsel to present evidence or inquire about the existence, contents, and coverage of any liability insurance policies held by defendants.

Applies to jury questioning procedures under G.S. 9-15.

Becomes effective October 1, 2011 and applies to causes of action arising on or after that date.
