Establishes a Legislative Task Force on Childhood Obesity consisting of 12 members appointed equally by the Speaker of the House and President Pro Tempore of the Senate, with one Representative and one Senator designated as cochairs.

Task Force shall study and recommend strategies to address childhood obesity and promote healthy eating and physical activity through early childhood intervention, childcare facilities, school physical education, nutrition standards, nutrition education, recreational access, and community initiatives.

Task Force may exercise investigative powers, meet in the Legislative Building, employ professional and clerical staff with Legislative Services Commission approval, and may contract for consultant services.

All state departments, agencies, local governments, and their subdivisions must provide the Task Force with requested information.

Task Force shall submit an interim report to the 2012 Regular Session and a final report to the 2013 General Assembly, then terminate on February 1, 2013, or upon filing of final report, whichever occurs first.
