Amends G.S. 14-269(b) to add an exemption to concealed carry prohibitions for state probation and parole certified officers when off-duty.

Off-duty probation and parole officers are permitted to carry concealed weapons under this exemption.

Exemption does not apply if the officer is consuming alcohol or an unlawful controlled substance, or if alcohol or unlawful controlled substance remains in the officer's body.

Becomes effective December 1, 2011.
