Authorizes hunters to use a single dog on a leash to retrieve killed or wounded big game animals during authorized hunting hours.

Allows hunters to use a portable light source during retrieval operations that may extend from one-half hour after sunset until 11:00 p.m. if necessary.

Permits hunters to dispatch wounded big game using only a .22-caliber rimfire pistol, archery equipment, or a legal handgun for that hunting season.

Prohibits use of motorized vehicles during pursuit and retrieval of big game animals.

Effective October 1, 2011.
