Prohibits law enforcement agencies from establishing vehicle stop patterns at checking stations based on particular vehicle types, effective December 1, 2011.

Provides exception allowing commercial motor vehicles as defined in G.S. 20-4.01(3d) to be designated in stop patterns.

Applies only to Chapter 20 provisions and does not restrict other lawful checkpoints or roadblocks meeting existing requirements.

Does not affect prosecutions for offenses committed before the December 1, 2011 effective date.
