Prohibits persons required to register as sex offenders under North Carolina General Statutes Article 27A of Chapter 14 from being granted EMS (Emergency Medical Services) credentials.

Applies to individuals convicted of offenses that would have required sex offender registration if the offense had been committed when such registration was required by law.

Requires the Department to deny credential renewal for any person who becomes ineligible for EMS credentials under this prohibition.

Became effective upon enactment on April 12, 2011.
