Authorizes the Legislative Research Commission to study North Carolina's criminal and sentencing laws regarding sex offenses and sex offender registration laws.

Commission may examine which offenses require registration, whether offenses should be added to or removed from registration requirements, and whether registration requirements should be modified.

Commission may evaluate whether the duration individuals must remain on the sex offender registry should be increased, decreased, or maintained.

Commission authorized to review federal sex offender registration requirements and compare North Carolina's laws with other states' registration laws.

Resolution becomes effective upon ratification.
