Reduces the filing deadline for written notice of appeal in summary ejectment proceedings from 10 days to 5 days after entry of judgment by a magistrate.

Maintains the 10-day appeal deadline for all other civil proceedings before magistrates, creating a distinct shorter timeframe for ejectment cases only.

Reduces the deadline for filing indigency affidavits in summary ejectment cases from 10 days to 5 days after magistrate judgment.

Requires court authorization of indigent status within 10 days after entry of judgment in summary ejectment cases (previously 20 days).

Becomes effective October 1, 2011, and applies to all appeals filed on or after that date.
