Requires successful completion of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) instruction as a high school graduation requirement by the 2014-2015 school year.

Schools must use instructional programs developed by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or other nationally recognized programs based on current evidence-based emergency cardiovascular care guidelines.

Schools must maintain electronic documentation that students have successfully completed CPR instruction to meet Healthful Living Essential Standards.

State Board of Education shall develop a strategic plan to phase in CPR instruction requirements, with documentation beginning in 2012-2013 school year, identification of students needing instruction in 2013-2014 school year, and full implementation by 2014-2015 school year.

State Board of Education must report on the plan to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by December 15, 2013, and on implementation by October 15, 2015.
