General Assembly extends appreciation to USO of North Carolina for providing programs and services to military troops and their families

Honors the memory of Judge Harvey Boney (Jacksonville USO supporter from 1940 until death in 2012) and William Sheehan (Jacksonville USO staff 1956-1982), and recognizes retired Marine Sergeant Major Matthew Hardiman (Jacksonville USO director 1976-2000)

USO of North Carolina operates five centers serving over 407,000 troops in 2011, including three airport-based travel centers and two installation-based centers at Fort Bragg and Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune

USO provides services including dignified returns for fallen service members, family support programs ("Smiles Over Miles" and "United Through Reading"), care packages, wounded warrior assistance, and college campus resources

Secretary of State to transmit certified resolution copy to USO of North Carolina; resolution effective upon ratification on June 21, 2012
