Appropriates $65,000 for the 2011-2012 fiscal year and $65,000 for the 2012-2013 fiscal year to the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Funds will establish one new child death research position and reclassify an existing research assistant position to better align with job duties and responsibilities.

Addresses staffing limitations in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which currently has only two positions dedicated to child death research and investigation training.

Aims to reduce delays and inefficiencies in child death research and investigation, components of the Child Fatality Prevention System established in 1991.

Effective date is July 1, 2011.
