Designates March of each year as Kidney Month in North Carolina.

Recognizes that North Carolina ranks ninth nationally for kidney replacement therapy needs and spends $5 billion annually on kidney disease-related health expenses.

Notes that one in nine North Carolinians is at risk for developing chronic kidney disease (CKD), with risk increasing due to aging population, obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.

Establishes that early detection and treatment of CKD can prevent suffering, reduce need for dialysis and transplantation, and decrease financial burden on the state.

Effective upon becoming law.
