Establishes a 12-member Legislative Task Force on Childhood Obesity with six members appointed by the Speaker of the House and six by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, each chamber designating one cochair.

Task Force shall study and recommend strategies to address childhood obesity through early childhood intervention, nutrition standards and education in schools, physical education and activity, recreational access, childcare facilities, before/after-school programs, and community initiatives.

Task Force members receive per diem and travel allowances, may exercise investigative powers, and shall receive professional staff support from Legislative Services and clerical staff from both chambers.

Task Force shall solicit input from nonprofit organizations focused on promoting healthy lifestyles for children and addressing obesity-related issues.

Task Force shall submit final report to the 2012 Regular Session of the General Assembly and terminates on May 1, 2012, or upon filing its final report, whichever occurs first.
