Adds definitions for "firefighter" and "rescue squad worker" to the Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System (LGERS) as full-time paid employees with assigned primary duties in fire prevention/suppression or emergency medical services.

Extends the survivor's alternate benefit to firefighters and rescue squad workers with 15 years of service who are killed in the line of duty, matching the existing benefit for law enforcement officers.

Allows survivors to receive a reduced retirement allowance instead of a return of accumulated contributions when eligible conditions are met.

Effective July 1, 2011, and applies to beneficiaries of firefighters and rescue squad workers killed in the line of duty on or after that date.
