Amends the definition of "renewable energy resource" under North Carolina's renewable energy and energy efficiency portfolio standard (REPS) to include wood as a renewable energy resource.

Removes the requirement that wood must be a waste product to qualify, allowing wood in any form to count as a renewable energy resource.

Changes the language from "wood waste" to "wood" in the biomass resource category of the REPS definition.

Maintains existing exclusions that peat, fossil fuels, and nuclear energy do not qualify as renewable energy resources.

Effective upon becoming law.
