Prohibits individuals from appearing on the general election ballot for two separate offices simultaneously, with an exception for filling a vacancy for the remainder of an unexpired term.

Applies to all candidates nominated under Article 9 of Chapter 163, those filing under G.S. 163-106, or those filing a petition under Article 11.

Effective for all elections occurring on or after January 1, 2012.

Allows candidates to run for one regular office and one unexpired-term office in the same general election, but no other combinations of multiple offices.
