Directs the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services to coordinate a pilot program in 10 adult care homes to evaluate crisis intervention training effectiveness.

Pilot program targets adult care homes with significant percentages of residents with primary mental health diagnoses and documented crisis management concerns.

Requires training delivery to all direct care workers (personal care aides, medication aides, supervisors) using a modified one-day North Carolina Interventions (NCI) Prevention training program with competency evaluation.

Mandates a report by March 1, 2012, to the North Carolina Study Commission on Aging and Joint Legislative Oversight Committee detailing participation, staff trained, training effectiveness, and recommendations for program expansion.

Becomes effective upon enactment.
