S562 - Standards for Some Nursery Stock Purchases

• Prohibits community appearance commissions, cities, and counties from requiring nursery stock purchased within their jurisdictions to meet standards stricter than the American Standard for Nursery Stock adopted by the American Nursery and Landscape Association

• Allows stricter standards only when necessary to protect public health or safety

• Applies restrictions to community appearance commissions under Part 7 of Article 19 of Chapter 160A, cities under Article 21 of Chapter 160A, and counties under Article 23 of Chapter 153A

• Becomes effective upon enactment and applies to nursery stock purchase contracts entered into on or after the effective date
