Session Law 2011-266 (Senate Bill 593) - Government Reduction Act

• Abolishes 41 state boards, commissions, and committees deemed inactive, duplicative, or non-critical, including the Advisory Committee on Abandoned Cemeteries, Aquaculture Advisory Board, Butner Lands Commission, and North Carolina Rail Council

• Transfers duties and functions of the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Capital Projects Financing Agency to the Clean Water Management Trust Fund Board of Trustees

• Declares statutory requirements met for 16 temporary study commissions and committees, prohibiting them from meeting or operating further, including those on public school funding, dropout prevention, and energy future

• Makes conforming changes to statutes by removing references to abolished boards from various agency provisions and removes reporting requirements previously directed to eliminated commissions

• Effective July 1, 2011, with terms of current board members expiring on the effective date
