Authorizes the Department of Transportation to issue single trip permits for transport and delivery of manufactured and modular homes with a maximum width of 16 feet and gutter edge not exceeding 3 inches.

Permits apply to transport from manufacturer to authorized dealership, delivery by manufacturer and dealer to final location within North Carolina, and homeowner transport between locations within the state.

Department shall adopt rules governing permitted days and times for transport, use of banners and escort vehicles, and other public safety measures as necessary.

Defines manufactured home and modular home using existing definitions in G.S. 105-164.3.

Effective October 1, 2011.
