Bill Summary: S.B. 853 - NCCS 50th Anniversary Special Plate

• Authorizes the Division of Motor Vehicles to produce a special registration plate commemorating the 50th anniversary of the North Carolina Community College System, bearing the phrase "NC Community Colleges 50th Anniversary" and a logo designed by the system.

• Requires a minimum of 300 applications before the plate can be developed and sets an additional fee of $25.00 for the special plate.

• Directs quarterly transfers of revenue from the Collegiate and Cultural Attraction Plate Account (derived from plate sales) to the North Carolina Community Colleges Foundation, Inc.

• Restricts funding to scholarships for children of community college faculty and staff, and for North Carolina Community College System employees entering or attending any community college in North Carolina.
