Appropriates $2 million from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina for fiscal year 2012-2013.

Funds designated for the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN), a collaboration between UNC at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University located at Gateway University Research Park.

Money to be used for hiring permanent staff, maintaining equipment, and supporting operations of the Joint School.

Appropriated funds become part of the continuation budget beginning in fiscal year 2012-2013, making the allocation recurring rather than one-time.

Effective July 1, 2012.
