Metropolitan Planning Organizations are subject to Chapter 138A (State Government Ethics Act) of North Carolina General Statutes and treated as boards for ethics purposes.

Rural Transportation Planning Organizations are subject to Chapter 138A (State Government Ethics Act) of North Carolina General Statutes and treated as boards for ethics purposes.

Members of both Metropolitan Planning Organizations and Rural Transportation Planning Organizations must file an initial Statement of Economic Interest with the State Ethics Commission by April 15, 2013, with all information current as of December 31, 2012.

Initial Statements of Economic Interest must be filed electronically.

The act becomes effective January 1, 2013.
