Removes requirement that all five board of trustees members for firemen's local relief funds be residents of the fire district.

Allows two firefighter-elected members to be either fire district residents or active/retired fire department members.

Allows the Commissioner of Insurance-appointed member to be either a fire district resident or an active/retired fire department member.

Maintains requirement that the two members appointed by local governing bodies must be fire district residents.

Effective upon enactment, signed into law June 20, 2012.
