Honors the life and memory of Robert G. "Bob" Shaw, a former North Carolina State Senator who served nine terms between 1985-2002.

Recognizes Shaw's service as owner of the Friendly Road Inn Seafood Restaurant for over 56 years, Guilford County Commissioner (1968-1976), and chair of the North Carolina Republican Party (1975-1977).

Acknowledges his contributions during his General Assembly tenure as Minority Leader of the Senate and vice-chair of committees including Banks and Thrift Institutions, Finance, and Redistricting.

Notes Shaw received the Order of the Longleaf Pine in 1990 and the Legislator of the Year Award from the North Carolina Wildlife Federation that same year.

Extends sympathy to Shaw's family and directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to his family; Shaw died April 7, 2012, at age 87.
