H 1101 Summary

• Requires lessees of real property owned by contracting bodies to obtain performance and payment bonds meeting the same standards as direct construction contractors when the contracting body requires construction, reconstruction, alteration, or repair work on the leased property, effective October 1, 2014.

• Voids any lease or contract provision that attempts to exempt projects from bonding requirements under Article 3 of Chapter 44A as against public policy.

• Adds requirement that child support orders include the current residence and mailing address of the custodial parent or child's address (unless there is an existing protective order or domestic violence findings), effective January 1, 2015.

• Makes technical corrections to the Uniform Deployed Parents Custody and Visitation Act, including clarification of when temporary custody orders terminate and reference corrections to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
