Adds requirement that courts consider whether a juvenile petition has been properly verified and invokes jurisdiction at the pre-adjudication hearing.

Inserts new subsection (5a) into G.S. 7B-800.1 to include petition verification and jurisdiction as a mandatory item for court consideration prior to adjudicatory hearing.

Effective October 1, 2014.

Ratified June 12, 2014 and approved June 19, 2014.
