Appropriates $150,000 in nonrecurring funds from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction for the 2014-2015 fiscal year to be allocated to Wilson County Schools for planning and support of the Wilson Academy of Applied Innovation.

Funds may be used for school construction or renovation of school property at the Wilson Academy of Applied Innovation, a high school focusing on innovation and technology to prepare students for manufacturing careers.

Starting with the 2015-2016 fiscal year, contingent upon approval of the Wilson Academy of Applied Innovation as a cooperative innovative high school under North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 115C, Part 9, Article 16, the General Assembly intends to allocate recurring funds equal to amounts allocated to other cooperative innovative high schools.

Effective July 1, 2014.
