Corvian Community School, a charter school located in Charlotte, is authorized to elect to participate in the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System under Article 1 of Chapter 135 of the General Statutes.

Corvian Community School is authorized to elect to participate in the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees under Article 3B of Chapter 135 of the General Statutes.

The school's elections must be made no later than 30 days after the effective date of the law and must comply with all other requirements of G.S. 135-5.3 and G.S. 135-48.54.

The law waives time limitations that would otherwise prevent the charter school from making these elections under existing statute.
