H396 - Private Well Water Education Act

• Requires local health departments to educate citizens about private drinking water wells, including those constructing new wells and those testing existing wells.

• Education must cover the scope of required testing, optional testing available, limitations of both required and optional testing, and minimum drinking water standards.

• Mandates that local health departments include information about the scope of required and optional testing when providing test results to well owners.

• Effective upon becoming law, ratified June 13, 2013.
